Announcements: M³C X Global Citizen unite the world for Mandela's centenary

Global Festival Madiba 100

Johannesburg, South Africa - September 3, 2018 - M³C's founder and Chief Content Creator, Thomas Mofolo, has been appointed as the digital communications officer for Global Citizen South Africa.


The international advocacy group headquartered in New York will be hosting its very first edition of their annual festival in Johannesburg, South Africa on the 2nd of December 2018. The festival has been dubbed Mandela 100 and will be in commemoration of former South African President Nelson Mandela who would have turned a 100 years old this year. Headlining acts for the festival include Jay Z, Cassper Nyovest, Beyoncé, Pharrell Williams and many other international and local acts.

As the digital communications officer for the event Mr. Mofolo will work closely with Global Citizen's Digital Manager of Partnerships and in tandem, with the marketing team to assist in executing the social media strategy for corporate partners in support of Global Citizen events. Corporate partners for the South African edition of the festival include Nedbank, The Motsepe Foundation, Coca-Cola Africa, Vodacom and many others.

Mr. Mofolo had the following to say about the appointment "This is truly a novel project which is near and dear to my heart because of what it means for Africa and the progress of our continent. I'm ecstatic to be a part of Global Citizen's team and help their partners in raising awareness and supporting the vision to end extreme poverty by 2030".

About Global Citizen:


Global Citizen, also known as Global Poverty Project, is an international education and advocacy organization that seeks to catalyze the movement to end extreme poverty and promote social justice and equity through the lens of intersectionality.
